From the launch of our very first women's product nearly a decade ago, the Women's Comp Saddle, to bikes like the XC World Cup-winning 2010 S-Works Era, our aim for the Specialized women's line has always been to deliver a full, uncompromising range of products designed just for females, with an option for every woman. Bikes and equipment that are technologically advanced, backed by science and 100% inspired and built for the women we are and the women we meet every day.
Today, the Specialized women's line is led by a strong and dedicated team of females who are as diverse as the products they create. Searching every day to change, inspire, innovate and grow the options for women in cycling, they will stop at nothing to develop the best fitting, most functional and most relevant bikes and equipment, year after year.
Through a combination of sound engineering, biomechanical research and rider/athlete feedback, we refine every detail around the female anatomy and the way women want to ride. Our bikes look and feel different because they are different. All of our women's bikes boast the following women's-specific features:
- Women's-specific and experience-specific geometries - adapted based on average women's measurements and proportions and built for the intended experience (recreation, endurance, performance, etc.)
- Size-appropriate tubing and carbon lay-ups
- Stiffness and suspension tuned to appropriate levels for female riders
- Component selection/design that complements women's anatomical differences and riding styles
We know that all riders, no matter their gender, are a diverse breed. Some are looking for easy speed on the bike path, others are anxious for their next big race. That's why as part of our philosophy, we develop women's bikes based on the intended rider experience.
