Our Competitive XC Geometry serves a very specific function—going as fast as possible. Of course, shear speed means nothing without handling and stability capability, which is why this no-compromises geometry has been the force behind numerous World Championships. It features ultra-short chainstays for nimble handling and direct power transfer, while the head and down tube angles are steeper than what's found in our Trail Geometry for the same reason. For maximum efficiency on the flats and climbs, Competitive XC also features a comparatively shorter wheelbase to better utilize pedal force. And for descents, it uses a roomy top tube that inspires confidence over technical sections and a relatively low bottom bracket height for stability through corners.
M4 ALUMINUM FRAME
By combining hydroformed tube shapes with high-quality aluminum as well as expertly hand-welded construction, our M4 aluminum frames are a seamless blend of performance and durability. Add to that a purpose-built geometry focused on responsive performance and confident handling, and our M4 frames have all the performance you’ll ever need.
On the trail, the stopping power of disc brakes stands without rival. And whether they're hydraulic or mechanical, disc brakes provide increased modulation, power, and reliability through any condition or terrain. The design also works independent of the rim, so they come with the added benefit of performing with equal aplomb to get you home safely when your wheels are out of true. The combined result? You're able to ride with more confidence and control.
1X10 / 1X11 GEARING
There are countless ways to drop a chain, and they all suck. Moreover, they almost all revolve around a front derailleur issue. It's for this reason that one-by setups are becoming increasingly popular, and it's also the reason why so many of our bikes are now specifically designed for 1x11 or 1x10 gearing. This design makes it nearly impossible to drop your chain, while the wide range of gears at the rear means that you won't have to sacrifice either climbing efficiency or power on the flats and descents. And on top of all this, the minimal setup leads to a very noticeable weight savings, a cleaner cockpit configuration with more room for dropper post controls, and reduced maintenance over time.
