Alberto Contador has sponsored this morning in Segovia the official presentation of Specialized-Alberto Contador Foundation junior team and then went with his young riders to do the first official training of the squad.
Alberto highlighted in the presentation of the project “the illusion with which we have started this team and all that involves, such as cycling schools in Pinto and next year's women and Under-23 teams”.
“It is a huge effort for us, but these things are what really motivates me. It is a young generation that is very excited and that is what we really need. When my brother and me think about this project, we had many doubts, but thanks to the collaboration of all the sponsors it has been possible. We are pleased to make our little contribution to cycling”, said Alberto.
The dream of brothers Contador, because Fran is also the team manager, is to give kids cycling fans the opportunity to realize their apprenticeship in the Alberto Contador Foundation school, from starting in schools until make the jump to professionals, a project particularly interesting in this time of economic crisis, when is most appreciated the commitment are showing all the sponsors and collaborators of the Foundation.
The official presentation was attended by the Mayor of Segovia, Pedro Arahuetes, who noted the strong link between the city and the team, coached by former Segovian professional Jose Luis de Santos, as well as former Tour and Vuelta winner Perico Delgado, who thus wanted to show his support to this initiative.
