Integrated innovation with the focus on complete performance makes our 29ers the lightest, fastest and most efficient bikes in the sport. For 2013, our 29er line expands to include more models, and all-new, confidence-inspiring women’s bikes.

WHY 29ers?

Float over Obstacles. 29-inch wheels "float" over rocks, roots and sand; which gives the rider more control.

Roll over bumps. Thanks to a 6.1% lower angle over a 130mm bump, 29-inch wheels don't get hung up on ledges or shelves.

Boost control. A longer section of tire touches the ground. This expanded "contact patch" translates directly to increased control.

Go Faster Once rolling, a 29er wheel maintains momentum much better than the standard 26-inch.

Integrated Innovation

Optimized wheelsets: We’ve developed 29er XC, Trail and All-Mountain-specific wheelsets with more spokes and a wider rim width to meet the demands of each riding experience. Gearing: To get bigger wheels up to speed, we use custom 29er-specific gear ratios to meet riders’ specific needs. Tires: Our full line of 29-specifi c tires includes the fast-rolling Renegade, the versatile Fast Trak and Ground Control, plus the all-new 2.3-inch Purgatory. Handlebars: We equip different 29ers with unique handlebars to keep the front end height in check, depending upon the bike and rider needs. Suspension: Our custom RockShox SID Brain 29er fork combines Specialized inertia-valve damping technology with the World-Cupproven performance of RockShox’s SID 29 slider. We get every bit of stiffness from he front end by building our OS 28 hubs to match with all sorts of fork confi gurations.

THE SPECIALIZED 29ER ADVANTAGE

Wide range of fit: 29ers are not just for tall people. We’ve done the homework to ensure our dialed geometry allow riders of all sizes to experience the benefits of 29-inch wheels. Our 29ers are nimble and fun with our signature geometry: low bottom brackets, short chainstays, and roomy top tubes. Most responsive handling: We keep our chainstays short on all our 29er frames, so the rear triangle remains stiff for a responsive ride. We also use shorter, tapered head tubes to keep the front end low for agile and controlled handling. Integrated innovation with the focus on complete performance makes our 29ers the lightest, fastest and most efficient bikes in the sport. Lowest center of gravity: By keeping the BB at the already low height of our 26-inch bikes, we help the rider sit deeper in the bike. This boosts stability and control compared to typical 29ers. Lightest 29ers: Each of our 29er models is optimized for lightweight performance. From FACT carbon fiber frames to tubeless-ready Roval wheelsets, we shave weight to improve the riding experience. Best power transfer: Our 29ers offer unmatched BB and torsional rigidity to translate every watt into forward motion. The lightweight PressFit 30 BB offers a narrow Q-factor, more ankle clearance, greater bearing durability, stiffer/stronger crank construction, and simple maintenance. Our low BB height lets the rider sit deeper in the bike to boost stability and control.
